ABOUT

The final preparations for the new season are complete and we are open again for our 6th season here at The Meadow Glamping! Over the winter we have been busy tweaking and improving what we offer, while keeping the magical experience that our fabulous guests love. It’s fair to say that if it doesn’t move it gets painted, luckily the @themeadowducks are colourful enough and keep swimming round the lake! It’s always fantastic to see our lovely guests return and enjoy what we uniquely offer here @TMG, we look forward to seeing you all again in 2024! Kate & Pete x

Welcome to The Meadow, nestled in a quiet corner of Broughton, Hampshire, The Meadow’s two acre setting is idyllic, peaceful and tucked away, yet still close to the convenience of this typical English country village.

Whether you prefer to take the rowing boat for a short lap around the lake, play tennis on the grass court, or sit quietly reading a book by the lake, your time at The Meadow is your own to relax and enjoy the stunning setting as you wish.

With our three units spread over 2 acres there is plenty of room to spread out and relax in your own private glamping area. Each unit has it's own bedroom, large outdoor area with seating, private toilet & shower, firepits and cooking facilities (including cover from the elements) and your own river side seating to watch the trout and ducklings cruise by on the Wallop Brook.

You may decide to cook amazingly tasty local buffalo burgers over the fire pit under the stars or you can opt to take a short stroll to the local pub for a meal or a tipple. Perhaps then finish your evening cosying up in front of the wood burner with a hot chocolate, or a large glass of wine - the choice is yours...

WILD BILLY'S

Our first glamping unit, Wild Billy's is an original Showman’s Wagon built around 1890 and used for many years as an authentic travelling gypsy home. During Wild Billy’s fairground days the Wagon was used as the backstop for the coconut shy (you can still see the dents in the wood if you look closely!

He is now fully restored so you can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of sleeping in an original wagon - this cosy palace for two is uniquely inviting and a totally romantic experience!

You now have the chance to tap in to your free spirit and experience life like a Romany, at least for a few nights anyway! Enjoy cooking on an authentic tripod over an open fire while sheltering from the weather on our covered sofa with the river just feet away  - perfect!

But don’t worry, there are plenty of added home comforts to make your stay luxurious - Wild Billy has a newly fitted wood burner, a super comfy memory foam mattress and toasty warm double duck duvet with fur throw.

Imagine snuggling up in bed in the morning with a cuppa listening to the woodpecker chipping away, or peeking out into your stunning surroundings to see if you can spot our resident Kingfisher flying over the lake, or catch a glimpse of a roe deer slowly walking past on The Meadow....

Wild Billy’s is the perfect place to totally relax!

'We had a fantastic peaceful weekend at Mary's Place. It's even more idyllic than the pictures - we enjoyed all the thoughtful nooks we could relax in: on the bench on the dock, in the rowing boat, in the summer house, on the outside sofa or by the chairs and table on the decking overlooking the lake. We also got to watch the rain roll in from the comfort of the bed after relaxing by the fire. We used mint from the garden for out G&Ts and cooked over the open fire pit (and on the gas hob when it rained). We were after a restorative weekend and Mary's Place delivered just that. Kate was thoughtful and responsive. Highly recommend!' Matthew

'This is the most peaceful wonderful place l've ever been! Went with a group so had the whole place and a weekend was not enough!

The details in design, the hosts, the nature, everything was what is says and more! I couldn't fault anything if I tried. Kate and her family are so helpful and welcoming and just genuinely lovely people, it would be a task and a half to fault anything!' Emily

'The place itself is beautiful and the attention to detail is stunning. The bed was so cosy and warm. It was amazing to wake up to such beautiful scenery in the morning! Overall this was one of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough, Kate is by far the best host I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with!' Sasha

'Amazing experience from start to finish! Kate was most welcoming upon our arrival, showing us the meadows facilities and everything you need to know. The Magic Rat is an incredible glamping setup, the boat itself is cosy, inviting and has everything you need including a heater that will keep you warm all night. The island where the boat is situated has everything including an easy to use bbq, sheltered seating area and comfy sofa in front of a log burning fire -a highlight for us! The shower is the best shower ever! Clean, powerful hot water and plenty of room to change. The Meadow's added extras of the rowing boat and tennis court added to our fantastic experience!' Gary

'Just a quick line to say thank you for being such great hosts, your place is amazing beyond words, we can’t stop talking about it. We had such a brilliant time, and it still doesn’t quite feel real!' Elena

'We just stayed here in The Magic Rat and it was stunning-super relaxing and quiet. Kate had put an amazing amount of work into making this site perfect for tranquillity and relaxation. You will not be disappointed.' AK

'We wanted to thank you fou our stay at Mary's Place. You have put so much thought and love into every detail. We actually slept with doors open, a huge treat to wake up to the birds, ducks and moorhens. The summerhouse was a lovely shady spot under the Willows and we loved playing barefoot tennis. What a special place you have created.' Johanna.
