‘Modern Calligraphy for Beginners – Dip pen’

If you are looking to learn the fundamentals of modern calligraphy in a fun & relaxed atmosphere, why not head to Chawton House this Spring to give it a go?
On arrival you will be given your calligraphy kit to use during the session. There will be plenty of one-to-one time during the group workshop so each student has enough time & attention to help develop their own style and go at their own pace. You will learn the basic strokes, practice writing the alphabet, learn how to join up the letters to make full words and learn how to flourish. By the end of the workshop you will have learned the basics of modern calligraphy and have your very own kit of materials to take home and keep practising!
Since we’re at Chawton House, you’ll also be given some wonderful Jane Austen quotes to use as inspiration – or you’re welcome to create your own!
The cost:
The cost of the workshop is £65. Each attendee will be given a basic starter kit including tools and learning resources, to take home. Hot drinks and a light lunch will be provided, please let us know any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
