Andwell Brewing Company

Adam and HelenWhat does Andwell Brewing Company produce?
Andwell's is a real ale micro-brewery selling cask & bottled beers to pubs, clubs, hotels and beer festivals.  In 2011 we also opened The Brewery Shop and now run brewery tours.

Who is involved and how long have you been doing this?
We began trading in October 2008 and in the first 3 years of brewing we have sold well over a million pints of our 'Beautifully crafted Hampshire ales'. Before setting up Andwell's in 2008, my husband, Adam Komrower was previously running Sarum Foods, a company producing hot smoked trout in the same premises in which the brewery is now based.  I'm Helen Komrower and was working as a solicitor until 2009, when I left law to join Adam in the brewery.

Why do you love living and working in Hampshire?
Both Adam and I worked for a while in London, but we now have a young family and prefer the beautiful countryside, fabulous food and drink of Hampshire, including our own beers!   There's lots going on locally and we love the great access links to the south's cities, towns and tourist attractions.
There's so much to see and do in Hampshire and it's the best place to sample and savour our gorgeous beers and discover the magic and mystery behind micro-brewing.

Andwell's beer selectionWhere can we buy your produce?
You can find our cask and bottled ales in local free houses, hotels & clubs and at our very own brewery shop.  Stockists include the Old House at Home (Newnham), the Crooked Billet (Hook), the Bolton Arms (Old Basing), and the Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club.

Do you welcome visitors to your premises?
Yes, we would love to see you at The Brewery Shop and to show you around the brewery on one of our brewery tours.

Do you organise any events?
Watch our website for details of Andwell's 2012 first Summer Fun Day in July 2012.  It'll be a chance to have a look around the brewery, learn about the century's old process of brewing beer and sample our lovely ales.  There will also be entertainment for those not yet old enough to partake in the tasting!

Can you give us a little-known fact about your business?
We have recently relocated & expanded to a site on which Adam used to run, Sarum Foods, a fish smokery.  That business used to hot smoke approximately 6,000 trout each smoke day and we now brew approximately 6,000 pints of beer on each brew day!
