What does Hyden Farm produce?
We are a small farming family with big passion in producing specialist, traditional meat and poultry. From Longhorn Beef to 18 week old Guinnea Fowl and pretty much everything inbetween, we believe in the highest welfare for all the animals and the best quality tasting produce you can find. In fact we believe the two things go together! 

Who is involved and how long have you been doing this?
We're Richard and Beth Jones, and as 5th generation farmers in the Meon Valley, we have been busy at farming and food production for quite a while! We have been at Hyden Farm for 27 years, but as Dad has been farming since 14, we are pretty confident that we have plenty of experience in what we are doing!

Why do you love living and working in Hampshire?
Hampshire is a brilliant place to live. It has a great mix of rural idols and market towns so it can appeal to most tastes! There are just so many people with lots of passion, running small businesses. I think this helps to give individuality to Hampshire and really enriches it for everyone who lives here.

Why should people visit Hampshire?
Hampshire really is a great place, and we have discovered, through the great work of Hampshire fare, just how many fantastic products you can find within this county! Its also incredibly picturesque, with rolling fields, ancient woodland – some dating back to the 1600’s, some of which were favourite destinations of Henry VIII, and coastline, there is a little of something for all tastes. With this much rich history plus fantastic food and drink, why would you not want to visit Hampshire?!

Where can we buy your produce?
We are easily found at the Hampshire Farmers Markets, on the 1st, 2nd and last weekend of every month, covering Petersfield and Winchester. We are also always delighted to receive people at the farm and show them a little of what we do, although as we don’t have a full time shop its always best to ring before you come so we can meet you – a bit like the Queen, it's by appointment only! We often hold walks and open days to encourage this!  So come and find us at the markets or pop up and say hello, we will be delighted to see you either way (and keep an eye on our website for upcoming events and open days on the farm).

Do you organise any events?
At the moment we have no confirmed dates for 2012, however we will be holding an Open Day/ Lambing Day in April, having had such a great response to this years event. Keep an eye on our website and the local press for more details!
