Langrish House
Langrish House is a traditional country house hotel ideal for weddings, conferences, meetings and parties of any kind. It is also available for exclusive use.
It is perfect for short breaks and is near some fascinating places, including the National Trust Houses - Uppark, Petworth House, Jane Austen's House at Chawton, Stonehenge and the Roman cities of Winchester and Chichester.
It is set in 14 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside.
Originally built by Royalist Prisoners taken at the Battle of Cheriton in 1644, it has been home to 7 generations of the Talbot-Ponsonby family. It is owned and run by Nigel and Robina Talbot-Ponsonby whose aim is to combine the advantages of a modern hotel with the comforts of a family home.
Each room is individually decorated and enjoys views over the extensive and very beautiful grounds. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
Frederick's Restaurant has 2 AA Rosettes for fine dining. The menu is innovative and excellent and the chefs enjoy the challenge of designing special menus. It is open to guests and non-residents for lunch, dinner and cream teas. It is an ideal venue for parties of any kind - birthday parties, anniversary celebrations etc.
With its lovely gardens and historic setting, Langrish House is a perfect place for a wedding. The house and gardens provide a perfect backdrop for photographs. In the summer, guests can enjoy a drink on the lawns; in winter, they can mingle in the historic candlelit wine vaults.
The House is licensed for marriage ceremonies up to 80 guests. A maximum of 90 guests can be accommodated, sitting at tables, for a wedding breakfast or 120 standing. Robina and her team have lots of experience in weddings and will enjoy helping you to plan your day exactly how you would like it.
If you are looking for somewhere different to hold your conference, or for those special clients, then Langrish House is ideal. The Talbot Room can accommodate conferences for 25 delegates boardroom style, 60 theatre style and 18 schoolroom style. Windows and French doors provide both natural light and fresh air. Conference equipment can be provided. Smaller meetings can also be accommodated.
