Little Mead
Situated in a quiet, tree-lined lane in the pretty village of Sparsholt, Little Mead is set in its own lovingly created garden and has views over the 12th Century parish church. This property also provides generous off street parking .
It offers an exceptionally high standard of accommodation with deeply comfortable beds, duck down duvets, and luxurious sheets.
At Little Mead there is an emphasis on local produce for the breakfast menus. For evening meals and lunch there is a choice of excellent eating establishments nearby including the award winning Plough Inn and Lainston House Hotel in the village itself.
Little Mead is the ideal base for both holiday makers and those on business in the Winchester area, being within easy reach of Sparsholt College, Winchester City centre, IBM Hursley, Aquiva’s offices in Crawley and the Army training regiment, Sir John Moore Barracks.
There are marvellous local walks and cycle rides in the extensive woods to the immediate west of the village while fly fishermen will be attracted by the proximity of the River Test.
Local tourist attractions include Winchester Cathedral, the village of Chawton where Jane Austen and her family lived. Selborne, the home of the famous naturalist, Gilbert White. The Watercress Steam Railway at Alresford, the historic Naval Base and museum at Portsmouth, Paulton’s Park at Romsey and the New Forest.
Little Mead is easily accessible. During the day time there is an hourly bus service to Winchester (with a stop near the station) from a stop only yards from our garden door, while Winchester station provides regular fast train services to London, Bournemouth and beyond, Reading and the North, and Portsmouth. Southampton Airport, which is only half an hour away by train and taxi or by car, provides regular air services to domestic and continental destinations.
