Travelling in Hampshire

By car

Hampshire has an excellent road network, with the M3 leading from Winchester to London, and the M27/A27 from Southampton across into Sussex. Download our Hampshire map for details.

South West Trains - SWTrains operate from Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset, across Hampshire and through to London Waterloo.

You can also take a nostalgic steam train between Alresford and Alton on the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line).

By bike

Hampshire provides excellent opportunities for cycling in the countryside or around town.

By bus

Hampshire is well served by bus routes in both rural and urban areas.

Our Tourist Information Centres can also advise on local transport and provide timetables.
