Once England's largest private palace, home of the Marquess of Winchester, Treasurer to Elizabeth I. his immense building covered 8 acres and replaced a great Norman castle.
*Newly restored Great Barn with exhibition, new visitor centre, new education/ meeting room in the old stables, new interpretive panels, new museum, refreshments and gift shop.
*Basing House re-opens 14 August 2010.
