PRINTS, Bedales Arts

John Howard Print Studios opened in 2007, on the Fal estuary in Penryn, and are developing as a centre of printmaking excellence in Cornwall. They offer an extensive range of high quality facilities to experienced printmakers and a strong educational programme. The exhibition will include a substantial number of landscapes and architectural studies by John Howard RE, and also represent other printmakers working from his studios, embracing a variety of techniques. A member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, John Howard has shown regularly at the Royal Academy, Mall Galleries and Bankside Gallery and was a tutor at University College Falmouth’s Printmaking Summer School for ten years.

We are delighted and honoured that the distinguished artist Sarah van Niekerk, a former pupil at Bedales, has agreed to show a small selection of her work alongside the main body of this exhibition. After Bedales, Sarah van Niekerk studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and the Slade. She taught wood engraving for many years at the Royal Academy Schools and the City & Guilds Art College. She has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy, and has illustrated many books, including volumes for the Folio Society.
