Festival Place in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, is aptly named. It is also extraordinarily easy to get to, being only 3 minutes from a motorway (M3) with a 3,000 vehicle car park, and only two minutes from the main line railway station.
It is a place for serious shopping in a light and airy atmosphere. There are 165 shops to tempt the spending of money, ranging from designer to casual wear, from boots and shoes to cookware and house-ware, from sports wear and equipment to books and music. There is absolutely no reason to go home empty handed.
Good shopping benefits from good eating. Festival Place offers 26 restaurants, cafés and bars which provide the ‘inner man’ with a satisfying day out.
If you have a couple of hours to spare, select a film at the 10 screen cinema, or take some exercise in the sports centre; both on site.
At the end of the day, you can finish off with a visit to the nightclub, see a play at the Haymarket or a concert at The Anvil ------ cultural shopping.
And do not forget the Farmers Market outside the Willis Museum, it is great for local produce in Hampshire.
