Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Visit the Centenary Border, with the length of Tower Bridge, it is one of the biggest double borders in the country. Established in 1953 by distinguished plantsman Sir Harold Hillier, the magnificent collection of over 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world are set within 180 acres.

Open all year, the Gardens display stunning range of gardens and plants including 12 National Plant Collections, a Gurkha Memorial Garden, Pond and Bog Garden, one of the largest Winter Gardens in Europe, and Children’s Education Garden which was opened in 2006 by Sir David Attenborough.

Events and exhibitions all year round, including annual Art In the Garden sculpture exhibition featuring 100 sculptures displayed around the Gardens from May to October.

Children will enjoy the Tree House as well as the bamboo tunnel, wobbly bridge and flying carpet swing.
