The farm is close to the historic city of Winchester, ancient capital of Wessex (15 minutes), the New Forest (40 minutes), the maritime centres of Southampton (30 minutes) and Portsmouth (40 minutes). London is only 55 minutes by train.
We are ideally placed as a resting place before or after ferries to and from the continent, or the Isle of Wight. The farm is mainly arable with a small flock of sheep.
Alresford, a delightful market town, is 4 miles away, and has the popular Watercress Steam Railway, along with a good choice of eating-places. Hampshire has truly beautiful countryside, dotted with quintessentially English villages to explore, many places of interest and there are wonderful walks, in fact the Wayfarers Walks runs past the top of our garden and the South Downs Way is 1.5 miles from us.
Breakfast is substantial and has to be seen to be believed! There is a mouth-watering selection of breads, cheeses, yogurts, fresh & dried fruits, various teas and fresh coffee!
There is plentiful supply of excellent country pubs and restaurants nearby all with gardens and one with its own brewery. We are happy to provide walkers lifts too and from local pubs.
There are excellent country pubs and restaurants within 2 miles and of course Alresford and Winchester offer a comprehensive restaurant choice.
During the winter months Dean Farm is a tempting destination to banish winter blues. Log fires, laden bookshelves, board games, or just to doze after crumpets for tea, will leave you feeling rested and de-stressed. This is an all season idyll and we will do our best to ensure your stay here is memorable and restorative.
Do come and stay with us to de-stress and re-charge your batteries.
