The property is a 15th century, Grade II Listed, two storey, terraced building set in a prime location just 5 minutes walk from the City centre with its shops, restaurants and historical places of interest.
Swan Cottage is unique, full of charm and character, yet fully equipped with every modern convenience and tastefully and comfortably furnished. Stunning views to the rear of the property extend to the Cathedral, Wolvesey Palace and Winchester College playing fields. The river Itchen runs along the bottom of the beautifully maintained tiered garden. Car parking is available opposite the cottage in a public car park and a resident parking permit is also available.
The cottage is entered from the street into a hallway, off of which there is a cosy parlour with an open, log burning fireplace and a large, fully fitted bespokekitchen displaying many original features. There is also a cellar. The kitchen leads out through a utility area annexe to the garden, with its many seating areas and views and a Grade II listed outside toilet, which is fully operational!
Upstairs there are two good sized double bedrooms, one with twin beds and a wash hand basin, and the other a double bed. The latter room offers beautiful views over the medieval city . There is a long, narrow bathroom with a free-standing bath and hand –held shower, and also a toilet and wash hand basin. The ceilings in the cottage are low and beamed and the floors sloping as one would expect from one of the oldest known properties in Winchester.
