About
Imagine escaping to your own pint-sized country retreat in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside to enjoy a glass of wine al fresco on a sun drenched terrace with a loved one or friend. Calf pen is a beautifully renovated flint and brick barn that retains its original character and charm with many of the luxuries you would expect for a cosy country retreat. These include a stylish bathroom with a huge walk in shower and under floor heating, inviting leather sofas, a large fully equipped kitchen with a dining table, twin beds that can be made into a large comfortable bed and the freedom of open farmland and fields.
If you don’t fancy cooking whilst at Calf Pen, the highly regarded Trout Inn is only a short walk away and offers great country pub meals and plenty of traditional ale to wash it all down. This is all situated close to the River Itchen, famous for its trout fishing and also the setting that inspired Charles Kingsley’s “The Water Babies”. This quaint cottage has many delights to offer and is an ideal haven for complete rest and relaxation.
