The ultimate in rustic relaxation. A beautifully crafted light and airy space where comfort and the countryside meet.

Follow the winding path that leads you to your own rural retreat. The Wagon and the Wigwam is set in a beautiful rustic courtyard, alongside a sunken hot tub under a teepee (complete with en-suite toilet for your own comfort!)

Truly a little place in the country; we actively encourage bees, birds, butterflies and wildlife in our large garden so keep your eyes out for flora and fauna on your doorstep day and night. Spot deer in the surrounding fields, barn owls hunting, the mad March hares boxing, the cuckoo’s call, or in the summertime look for native orchids in the wildflower meadows.

Listen out for the tawny owls calling at night as you relax into your private sunken hot tub. Watch the fire blaze in the warmth of the undercover Wigwam, or fling wide the doors to gaze at the stunning night’s sky.

Share a romantic shower made for two.

Chill out in the ‘star lounge’ mezzanine and enjoy the celestial viewing platform from the comfort of the indoors, whilst listening to vinyl on the record player.

Leave the tree window curtains open at night and wake up to the glorious sunrise.

Cook dinner or roast marshmallows on the outdoor barbeque and take pleasure in the great outdoors.

Built with no timescale or budget, just the dream of creating the ultimate rural retreat for people to escape.

What people have said about our next-door BNB, ‘Wagon in the Woods’…

“Just wow. The wagon was spectacular, Ralph was so helpful and very welcoming. We fell in love, the surroundings, the fire pit, the views oh and the hot tub, that was just incredible. We had a fantastic Valentine’s Day, we would happily go back. Everything was perfect and it was a cosy evening. The Yew Tree pub was gorgeous too, about 2 miles away. Thank you Ralph and Lucy for a wonderful stay, highly recommend this little get away!”

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the wagon, which although small has everything needful for a cosy night. We loved the artistic touches like the copper washing bucket and taps. The bed was very comfortable and we were nice and warm, even on a cold November night. There is no need to go traipsing across a field to reach the toilet, either- it is all there. But by far the best thing about staying in the wagon was waking up to the beautiful view and sunlight pouring in through the large window. A perfect spot to enjoy your morning cup of tea and read in the sunshine. The hosts are lovely, the location is perfect, and we’d gladly stay again. A charming hide-away with lots of rustic charm and rural peacefulness.”

“The most amazing place we have ever stayed. I can not recommend the wagon in the woods enough. Perfect for a romantic night away. Ralph was lovely and really helpful. Thanks for a brilliant stay, we will 100% be back in the summer!”

“Truly unique place. Very tranquil, peaceful place. Ideal for a short, peaceful break. Small and cosy but equipped with all you need. We arrived late on a wet, wild and windy Friday – muddy outside but the wagon was spotless, the hot tub ready to go and ideal to warm up and relax – watched clouds rolling past to reveal a beautiful starry sky over the fields behind the wagon. Walked to and from Alresford (about 5 miles each way) as planned but the place is secluded so you do need wheels to get there and great for walking once your there – little in the way of public transport. Fantastic place to watch birds – a feeding post outside the large window attracted dozens of small birds – very entertaining over breakfasts. Very highly recommend this place.”

“Wonderfully quiet, peaceful, with lots of birds to listen and watch (from the window) Hottub was really hot enough, even in minus 2 degrees (keep fire going of course) starlight &shooting stars included! Only regret was not being able to stay longer.”

Amy

“Literally the most magical nights stay ever!! Stayed here as a surprise to my boyfriend for our Anniversary /Valentine’s Day and boy was it a good choice! Ralph’s Wagon is just amazing… from cooking dinner on the open fire to watching the stars in the hot tub… I just couldn’t fault it. Even the little extra things Ralph adds to the Wagon, such as Wagon Wheels biscuits and marsh mellows are perfect. I can’t go on enough about how much we loved our stay and can’t wait to go back!!”

Jack

“The Wagon in the Woods is tip-top. Attention to detail is phenomenal, very intricate and clearly a lot of consideration has gone into making this a peaceful place to relax. The surroundings are idyllic and only heightened whilst enjoying the hot-tub – stroke of genius! Hosts were also incredible and always on hand to help out when required. I would while-heartedly recommend the Wagon on to friends.”

Sheena

“A magical little wonder that we would rather was a secret from the rest of the world but understand Ralph deserves the business. Amazingly innovative and romantic little retreat! If you can go, go – find the time and experience this little find!”

Priya

“What a magical place! The wagon in the woods was the perfect little getaway from London and it suited us so well. It’s super cosy and cute, making it perfect for a romantic break or just for some time to put your feet up. This is THE place to spend some quality time with a book, Netflix or your other half (all of the above in my case). We loved all the little quirks of the place and the fact that Ralph had built it himself made it all the more authentic – you really felt the care in all the little details. We loved watching the stars in the hot tub, drinking hot chocolate, playing board games and snacking whilst all of our stresses and troubles melted away! If you like camping without the actual camping or if you just want to escape the real world for a night or two, I highly recommend this place – we will definitely be returning.”
