Milford-on-Sea is a traditional village offering a range of shops, breathtaking cliff top walks with spectacular views, great beaches and thriving wildlife. Visitors can discover Hurst Castle which sits on a spit 1.5 miles from the village. The castle has has a long military history, dating from Tudor times when it was built by Henry VIII to defend the Solent. It was the prison of Charles I and is now owned by English Heritage. Visitors young and old can explore the castle and gaze out across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.
Back in the village, there is a lively seaside atmosphere and the great selection of cafes and local shops. There are relaxing pubs and restaurants and a good choice of visitor accommodation, from camping sites to hotels.
