Hampshire is a county well known for its great selection of local produce, fine dining restaurants, friendly cafes and cosy pubs. We’re proud of our fine food, from the exquisite dishes in our gourmet restaurants to the top quality produce in our farmers' markets including fresh trout and watercress. You’ll find gastronomic delights in Hampshire all year round, at exciting food events and on foodie days out with the family.

Foodie Days Out
If you love your food and want to give your taste buds a treat, explore the exciting flavours of Hampshire’s food and drink. Take a tour around one of the county’s award winning vineyards and learn about the wine making process as well as tasting some of the regions finest wines. Explore the world famous Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery and go behind the scenes and learn how to make the perfect gin cocktail in one of their cocktail making master classes. Discover Hampshire’s fine beer and ale on one of the county’s brewery tours. For a more unusual experience go on board the real ale train on the Watercress Line which serves ale from a restored bar carriage pulled by a steam locomotive.

Eating Out
Whether you are looking for somewhere to eat for a special occasion, a Saturday night treat or a quick pit stop, our county has something to suit all tastes. From traditional British cuisine to international dishes such as Italian, Indian, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese, there is no shortage of choice.

If you’re looking for award winning restaurants, treat yourself to one of Hampshire’s Michelin star or celebrity chef restaurants. Expect to find celebrity chefs such as Rick Stein, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Angela Hartnett.

Enjoy dining in one of Hampshire’s many fantastic locations, from restaurants with sea views and city centre atmosphere to traditional country pubs in the beautiful rural countryside. The medieval, eclectic city of Winchester is well known for its local produce and fine dining. There are a growing number of celebrity chef restaurants and it is fast becoming the foodie capital of the south of England. The pretty coastal town of Emsworth is another foodie hub with a long association with seafood and oysters. Here you’ll find a traditional high street, monthly markets and some of the area’s finest restaurants, some with views across the Solent.
