Eastney Beam Engine House will be open free of charge on certain weekends. There will be some restrictions on access and the engines will not be in steam.
Eastney Beam Engine House's main attraction is a pair of magnificent James Watt beam engines housed in their original high Victorian engine house of 1887.
A variety of other pumping engines, many in running order, are also on display.
Due to essential improvement works to the Beam Engine House, the next Open Day (May 26) will be the last for 2019. We look forward to welcoming visitors back in 2020.
The Gas Engine House will be open to view throughout this period and will be staffed by our volunteer team as follows:
September 8 (for Heritage Open Days) and 29
Opening times: 11am - 5pm (except September which is 11am - 3pm).
* Revised opening dates will be posted online as soon as our improvements are completed.
