Hampshire Fare
Hampshire Fare is Hampshire’s champion of top quality food and drink and one of the UK's top food groups. It provides news about local produce, information on local food and drink specialities and details of local producers. Hampshire Fare also organises many exciting foodie activities and has information on food trails, recipes, special offers and competitions
Established in 1991 by a small group of food producers, membership of Hampshire Fare has now grown to over 180 food, drink and craft businesses. They range from pork producers and wine makers to hotels, farm shops, restaurants, bakeries, breweries, chocolate makers and lavender producers.
Hampshire Fare’s wide remit includes connecting the public with farming through local food, providing business support to its members, encouraging public sector organisations to purchase local produce and organising exhibitions and promotions.
Hampshire Fare organises the annual Hampshire Food Festival in July. Over 200,000 people enjoy over 100 events throughout the month-long festival, including cookery demonstrations from celebrity chefs, beekeeping demonstrations, mushroom-foraging expeditions, jam-making sessions and cider pressing.
Good Food Hampshire and Hampshire Fare collaborated on the 2012 seasonal calendar, available to download for free. It includes 12 delicious recipes and details on where to source fresh local produce.
