Foodie Days Out in Hampshire

Hampshire is well known for its fine local produce and there are lots of foodie days out waiting for you to discover.

At Hattingley Valley take a tour of the vineyard and taste a glass of their Classic Cuvee.

For a truly authentic experience, book the premium package which includes food at the multi award-winning local pub The Yew Tree.

At Hambledon Vineyard, enjoy the standard tours and tasting as well as the unique wine making experience where you can create your own bespoke bottle of Hambledon fizz.

Other vineyard tours in the county include Three Choirs Vineyard (former Wickham), which offers a tutored wine and cheese tasting and Cottonworth, which offers tours, wine tasting and a wine makers lunch.

For fine beer and ale, take a tour at Ringwood Brewery in the New Forest which has had a long association with beer since medieval times.

In north Hampshire, visit Andwell Brewery which is an award-winning family run business.

Meet the team and learn how they craft their quality real ales, as well indulging in a beer tasting session.

For a more unusual experience go on board the real ale train on the Watercress Line which serves ale from a restored bar carriage pulled by a steam locomotive.

Bombay Sapphire

Bombay Sapphire recently opened its doors to the public for the first time at historic Laverstoke Mill, which used to produce the bank note paper for the Bank of England.

Take the self discovery experience and learn about the distillation process and the botanicals used to create the world famous gin.

At the end of the experience you’ll receive a complimentary cocktail which is personalised to your choice of favourite aromas and flavours.

The distillery also offers a gin workshop and cocktail masterclass with one of their gin experts.

Farm Shops & Local Produce

Nearby you’ll find Laverstoke Park Farm, which is run by Jody Scheckter, former F1 world champion racing driver.

The farm has won awards for their buffalo and meat products.

Visit the farm shop for tasty organic meat, vegetables, dairy, confectionary and farm made pasties.

You can also pick your own fruit and vegetables at Durleighmarsh Farmshop near Petersfield.

There’s different fruit such as blueberries, sunberries and tayberries as well as pick-your own flowers and herbs.

Farm butchery workshops take place at Parsonage Farm in Andover including sausage, lamb and pork.

There’s also a popular charcuterie workshop with Marc Frederic Berry, Britain's only French registered Boucher-Charcutier-traiteur.
