About
Guided cycle ride of the New Forest followed by Yin yoga session.
Start your day off with a gentle ride beginning by leaving Bramshaw village behind and heading towards Penn Common on quiet small lanes on the edge of the New Forest. As we pedal our way round this magical part of the Forest, we cross Furzley crossroads where we can see Stagbury Hill, a Bronze Age burial mound converted into a rabbit warren in the Middle Ages and finally into a trigonometry point in recent times. Looking out for ponies, cows, sheep, donkeys and pigs, the ride takes a right turn into Cadnam Lane and towards the green; a tin-roof shelter is at the far end of the green where you might see animals shelter from the weather. Passing by small farms and the golf course, we head back towards Bramshaw where our ride finishes.
After your cycle, Sally will guide you through a relaxing sequence of Yin poses suited for all abilities. Yin yoga focuses on deep tissue release, particularly within the hips and shoulders. The poses are held for longer than in a traditional practice and props are used to ensure comfort and to aid tension release. Yin yoga has many benefits including relaxation, injury prevention, lowering blood pressure, and restoring energetic flow through the body. Mats will be provided although you may wish to bring your own, along with a blanket. The body's temperature can often cool down in these static poses so you may wish to change out of any sweaty cycling clothing before to avoid getting chilly! We will close our practice with a cup of fresh herbal tea.
Pre-booking essential.
