Ivanhoe

Enjoy a warm, friendly welcome to 'Ivanhoe' where we offer you a comfortable homely stay. Our modern house is awarded 4 stars and is set in a quarter of an acre with lovely views over Hampshire countryside. We are approximately 2 miles from Selborne, 5 miles from Alton and 7 miles from Petersfield and Farnham.

Our three bedrooms have teas, coffee and hot chocolate available with optional home-made cakes on arrival. There is a TV, radio alarm clock and hairdryer, and towels and robes for the bathroom are provided. The cental heating is adjustable for your comfort and energy efficiency.

We have a single, twin and double room available.

The large, single room has an en suite shower, toilet and small hand basin.

The twin room and the double room have a private bathroom. These rooms are not usually let at the same time unless there are friends or a family staying together. We welcome children from the age of 8.

The twin room has lovely views over the countryside, and alpacas and rare breed sheep can often be seen. The single and double rooms also have views over fields to the 'Hangers Way'. We have internet access available in the snuggery.

Delicious breakfasts, either continental or full English are served in the snuggery or the large dining room. We offer local produce where possible. In season we can offer tomatoes, mint or lemon balm tea and strawberry jam with home-grown produce. We also offer other home-made preserves. Special diets are catered for by prior arrangement.

We welcome walkers and cyclists and have drying facilities and a secure garage for cycles. The 'Hangers Way' is 1/4 mile and this links to the South Downs Way. There are walks and 0S maps of the area available and we can provide packed lunches at a small cost by prior arrangement.

There is off-road parking for cars on a slight slope in front of the house.

We are in the East Hants Green Leaf Tourism Scheme and endeavour to be energy efficient by:

- asking guests to only place towels in the bath or shower if they would like them replaced daily;
- ensuring taps are turned off;
- ensure TVs are not left on standby.

We re-cycle any newspapers and bottles left by guests. We are a non-smoking house.

Hampshire has numerous places to visit such as:

Chawton - Jane Austen's House, Chawton House Library;
Selborne - Gilbert White's House, The Oates Museum;
Alton - Regular Farmers' and Craft Markets, the Curtis Museum, the Allen Gallery, the popular 'Mid Hants Railway' with steam trains from Alton to Alresford;
Alice Holt - at the Forest you could walk, hire a bike or 'Go Ape', Birdworld
Winchester - is approximately 30 minutes away by car and has numerous visitor attractions.
