Improve your botanical illustration and gardening knowledge with 6 fun exploratory workshops at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Follow the story of plant life through the seasonal cycle and study the forms and functions of plant parts.
Drawing plants with botanical precision sharpens observation of flower and habit features, deepening plant understanding and easing identification.
Each workshop (except the first) starts with a review of home studies. You will share what you have discovered in your own lines of interest. After coffee there is a presentation on the subject for the week, with live examples, discussions and microscope observations. After lunch the group gets down to some serious drawing and painting of their chosen specimen.
Your tutors Sally Pinhey MSc, FLS, SGM, FCPGFS, and Sue Flynn RN. SCM Dip. SBA. will give you individual attention during this time, concluding with the individual home study projects for the month ahead.
A materials list will be provided.
