In Hampshire, food is something to celebrate. Celebrate the best of Hampshire’s food and drink at the Hampshire Food Festival in July. The month-long festival offers the chance to learn more about food production in Hampshire and to taste some of the county’s fine local produce. You can visit breweries, vineyards, orchards and lavender fields, take part in celebratory lunches and dinners, or take part in jam, chocolate or cheese-making classes.
Don’t miss the Alresford Watercress Festival in May which pays tribute to the famous crop grown nearby. The one-day festival features not only watercress but other delicious local foods and is accompanied by cookery demonstrations, market stalls, street theatre, music and dance.
Another popular month-long celebration is the Southsea Food Festival in Portsmouth. The festival takes place in June and July, featuring cookery demonstrations, markets, celebrity events and food tastings all over town.
Other popular food events include the beer festivals in Alton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Winchester, the Trout ‘n’ About festival in Stockbridge and the annual Romsey and New Forest agricultural shows. See below to search for food and drink events.
You’ll find top quality produce in our farmers’ markets all year round, produced and reared in the county.
