Once working clay pits, Swanwick Lakes now nestle in peaceful 36 hectare wooded landscape. There are over 2 miles of paths around the lakes and woods, with over 1 mile of surfaced marked trails around this Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust reserve. It’s home to many uncommon kinds of wildlife such as great crested newts, nightingales and mining bees – and there’s a range of family-friendly event on throughout the year.
Open at all times.
The Education Centre and toilets are open for schools and organised groups, but closed when not in use.
Free entry, but donations to the Trust welcomed.
