About
The Aldershot 10K and 1K Family Fun Run is taking place on 28th April 2024 in Aldershot.
A BRAND NEW running event for Aldershot in 2024, the race is organised by Raceways Events CIC in support of the military children's charity, Little Troopers.
More about the The Aldershot 10K
The very first Aldershot 10K will be on a fast, flat and flowing multi-terrain route, with the majority of the race on roads and tarmac footpaths, and a short section along the Basingstoke Canal towpath.
Starting at the Aldershot Military Stadium, the route will start with a loop past the Garrsion Sports Centre and Physical Training Corps, before a tour of Queens Parade and a short section along the Basingstoke Canal Towpath. Looping around Aldershot Garrison, past the Military Museum on Queens Avenue, and back to where we started with a sprint to the finish in front of the main grandstand!
The race will be officially measured, licenced and insured by England Athletics and run under UKA rules, which will attract elite athletes, age-group warriors, community charity fun runners and everyone in between.
Runners will have the option to enter the race for free by committing to fundraising £100 for Little Troopers, and a portion of the profits from the race will be donated directly to the charity to help fund the continued support of military children and families.
We offer finishers medals and OPTIONAL tshirts for all runners, in order to try and do our small part to reduce waste going to landfill.
More about the 1K Family Fun Run and Activities
After the 10k race there will also be a 1KM Family Fun Run where the kids can get involved. All children will receive a medal and certificate, so the whole family can enjoy the fun! What's more, there will be an ice-cream truck, face-painting mini-golf and more, so it really is gearing up to be a fun day out for everyone.
More about Little Troopers
Little Troopers is a military children's charity, founded in 2011 by Louise Fetigan, who was a serving member of the British military with her own young family. They provide the resources to support for all children with one (or both) parents serving in the British military. Come and celebrate the Month of the Military Child with us in April, and help to raise funding and awareness for Little Troopers!
