About
Beating the Bounds is an ancient custom where a group from the community would walk the boundary of the parish. Whilst there is no recorded evidence that this ceremony took place in Petersfield, there are maps that show the ancient boundaries of the borough and parish.
This walk will perambulate this 4 mile route stopping at intervals to explain the historic connections that formed the boundary and its future expansion into the town today.
This walk will take 2.5 hours and meets outside Petersfield Museum—good sturdy walking boots recommended.
£5 Non members, £4 Museum members. Booking is essential.
