About
Linking with the SeaCity Pavilion Exhibition, Port Out, Southampton Home, SS Shieldhall commences her 2017 sailing season with a cruise down Southampton Water towards the Solent, and on her return will pass the cruise ships Crown Princess, Independence of the Seas and Queen Elizabeth. As part of your cruise, see the impressive engine room with its original steam engines at work and the bridge, with its traditional instruments and gleaming brasswork; admire the ship's steam assisted steering gear (similar to that used on Titanic); talk to the Captain and our volunteer crew; pass close to the great ocean liners and container ships; walk the teak decks; relax in the Saloon with our wide range of refreshments including tea / coffee; real ale; a range of Titanic bottled beers; wine and hot and cold food, available on all trips. Children will have fun with our interactive Shieldhall Log Book, collecting stickers from various stations on board, whilst there will be a number of deck games to play too!
TOP TIP FOR GROUPS: Link a morning visit to SeaCity's 'Port Out, Southampton Home' exhibition, with an afternoon cruise on the SS Shieldhall. If you wish we can also arrange for a guided tour between the Museum and the Shieldhall along the City's QE2 mile, highlighting lots of historic sights along the way!.
