Roaring good fun at Sirius’ly footstomping Oktoberfest
Fleet’s Sirius Lions want local people to join in the roaring good fun at our Sirius’ly good Oktoberfest Party. The evening of Bavarian culture is part of the Lions International centenary celebration of serving communities worldwide. You can kick up your heels at the annual Oktoberfest Party on Saturday 15 Oct at the Zebon Copse Centre, Church Crookham.
The Oktoberfest features Oompah band The Bettesteiner Footstompers, who have performed on the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Soccer AM and CNN News for the Champions League Final, which was broadcast to 30 million households.
Come and join in the amazing atmosphere of a German Oktoberfest without the long journey. We're bringing all the fun (and the beer) to you! With an authentic Oompah band, German sausages and most importantly, the German Beer, the night will be great fun and all for good causes.
Fundraising
The annual Oktoberfest event has been such a roaring success for the past 4 years. This year Sirius Lions are raising funds for local causes. Oktoberfest is organised by the Sirius Lions, a group made up of people in their 20s and 30s from the local area to raise funds, support projects in the community and have a Sirius’ly good time!
The Oktoberfest ticket costs £20 per adult in advance, and the evening runs from 19:30 to 23:00, including a traditional German meal. A vegetarian option is available - please order in advance.
Event organiser Jonathan Hellem said: “We are proud to host this Oktoberfest as part of the Lions International centenary celebration of serving communities worldwide. This year all funds raised will be going to worthwhile local causes. This is the fourth year Sirius Lions have held the Oktoberfest, it’s been a roaring success. We’re going do some games and there’s going to be the lively Oompah band ‘The Bettesteiner Footstompers’ on hand to entertain the crowds. We dare you to grab your lederhosen and a few friends - we look forward to seeing you!”
