About
The unique and beautifully painted gypsy caravan or rustic shepherds hut will offer you the quirky glamping experience you and your partner or family are looking for. Snuggled into a woodland area in Fernwood Glamping's garden, overlooking the fields behind where deer and rabbits are frequently seen. It is hard to believe you are only minutes from the friendly market town of Ringwood, on the edge of the New Forest.
The hut / gypsy van is comfortable for two but can be used by a family of four as there is an additional bed suitable for smaller children (aged approximately 4 -10 years as it is only 5 feet long). Fernwood Glamping charge 15 pounds for each younger guest per night and will provide a sleeping bag with integral pillow and a towel.
Although there is a double plug socket in the hut and van, most guests use fairy lights and tea lights (although Fernwood Glamping do provide an LED lantern and light in case you want to read). There is a small wood burner, which makes the whole hut toasty warm in a few minutes and even after you let it die down, it will continue to keep you warm over night. Fernwood Glamping provide you with a basket of wood, which you can use inside or on the fire pit outside as you sit and enjoy the sunset (perhaps even toast marshmallows!).
The guests in the gypsy van may use the beautiful octagonal thatched summer house with decking that overlaps the pond. There are no fish so it has been naturally colonised by local wildlife including dragonflies, frogs and newts. There are power points in here and you are welcome to make yourself a hot drink (tea and coffee making facilities are provided). There is a mini fridge and kettle in the shepherds hut too.
The shepherds hut guests have use of their own compost toilet, with accessories in bright colours - fairy lights, funky toilet seats, voile curtains, a cold water tap and a hand sanitiser. The gypsy van guests have use of the traditional toilet near the house.
Guests are also welcome to use the shared shower room at staggered times. Fernwood Glamping provide towels and two towelling robes for your use during your stay. Fernwood Glamping have also built outdoor shower cubicles for each unit, with solar bags to heat up and then transfer into a portable shower allowing guests to socially distance (much more fun!).
See Fernwood Glamping for dates, availability and booking details. They continue with off season glamping for couples in the shepherds hut only.
