Rotary Clubs in Romsey have linked up with the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens where 250,000 crocus bulbs have been planted.
The 250,000 purple crocuses will be in full flower creating a very special vista. They represent the project for the eradication of polio where a finger is marked with a purple dye to show that they have been inoculated.
The Crocuses should be at their best between 23rd February and 1st March when the Rotary Clubs hope that, while visitors are there, they will make a donation to help finally eradicate this disease. All donations are multiplied by three, courtesy of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
