Sir Harold Hillier Gardens are home to over 400 champion trees - the tallest, widest, oldest of their species. This is one of the largest collections of champion trees in the British Isles.
Sir Harold Hillier Gardens' Head Arborist Jon Hammerton, will share the fascinating history of the tree collection. An expert in the field, he spent over 20 years looking after many important collections around the world including; the tree collection at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Gibraltar Botanic Gardens and royal residences. Not forgetting his starring role on the BBC2 series The Trees That Made Britain.
Starting with a home cooked breakfast, Jon will then take you on a tour to discover hidden gems and some ancient giants. Learn about these magnificent trees and some of our rarest and threatened species in the collection too, the tour will last approx. 1 ½ hours.
