Two hearts. One fate. A timeless love reborn. The Duke's Theatre Company presents Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, a bold reimagining of the iconic tragedy directed by Joseph Pitcher.

Bring your camping chairs, picnics, blankets and torches to The Vyne's north lawn for this Shakespearian classic. A kiosk will be open serving refreshments before the performance and during the interval.

Pitcher's acclaimed credits include Gypsy (UK Theatre Award for Best Musical Production) and My Fair Lady at The Mill at Sonning, and Macbeth at the Salomons Theatre, Tubridge Wells. Returning to the company following Macbeth (2025), this vibrant production also features original music by composer Rob Millett (Rambert Dance Company and The Royal Opera House, The National Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe). Recommended for ages 7+. Assistance dogs only are welcome.

Meeting point
Once you've shown your ticket, follow the main path to the north lawn.

What to bring and wear
It might be summer, but the evenings can get chilly. Bring jumpers to pull on as the temperature lowers and wear comfortable outdoor clothing. Please bring a picnic and something to sit on.

Accessibility
The event is held on flat ground with short grass and is approx. 500m from the car park along a flat, wheelchair-accessible path.

Other
It's about a 10 minute walk from the visitor car park to the north lawn. You'll need to be able to carry your chairs and picnics up so make sure your things aren't too heavy.
