Clinging to its roots, the open plan bar and dining area display original low beams and wooden floors decked out with leather upright chairs and solid wooden tables. Fishing memorabilia is a constant reminder of where you are. A separate lounge, with an inglenook fire that roars in winter and comfy wing-back armchairs and sofas, is the absolute place to relax after a satisfying meal.
The outside dining areas lends itself entirely to enjoying the wonders of the pubs riverside garden. With a backdrop of the River Test, a garden bar to ensure you're never left thirsty and an array of foodie delights designed by Head Chef Phill Bishop, The Greyhound on the Test is the perfect meeting spot to catch up and reunite with loved ones.
The eight en-suite bedrooms are decorated with antique furniture and paintings, which happily sit alongside modern comforts such as fluffy mohair throws, flat-screen TV, WiFi internet and chic bathrooms that don’t detract from the old-world charm.
Please book ahead. There are a small number of tables and chairs with a river view which are lovely for an early evening or lunchtime tipple. Please note that they do not take bookings solely for drinks - it's very much a 'turn up and see what's available affair'.
