This festive season take your little ones on a magical day out to see Father Christmas. This year Father Christmas taking time out of his busy schedule and popping up across Hampshire in a number of towns, cities and attractions to spread the festive cheer. Here's our guide to some of the top places to see him this Christmas.

Paulton’s Park, Near Romsey – 19th to 23rd December (various dates)

Enter into a Christmas wonderland and be greeted by adorable animated characters as you make your way through the enchanted winter snow scene. See Rudolph and Donner and the Christmas Elves in Santa Claus’ Toy Factory. At the end of the journey children can meet Father Christmas and receive an exciting present.

Exbury Gardens, New Forest - 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th December

A unique opportunity to visit Exbury Gardens free of charge during the festive seasons. There will be a special ‘Postal Express’ train service running throughout the day. Along the route passengers will see some beautiful sights and favourite Christmas characters. If you’re lucky you may even see Father Christmas! Tickets for the train ride can be purchased on the day.

Winchester Tourist Information Centre, Winchester – 26th November, 3rd, 10th, 17th December

Visit Santa Claus in his cosy grotto. Each child will get the chance to meet Santa and choose a present to take home. Tickets must be booked by calling 01962 857 275.

Watercress Line, Alresford – 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th to 24th December


See Santa on a magical steam train ride along the scenic Watercress Line. As you travel in a festive traditional train carriage Santa and his jolly helpers will visit you in your seat with a special gift! Festive refreshments for adults and children will also be provided.

Tudor House Museum and Gardens, Southampton – 3rd & 4th December

Meet Father Christmas in the beautiful setting of the Tudor House. Each child will have the opportunity to meet Father Christmas and receive a souvenir photo and a special gift to take home.

Finkley Farm, Andover - 25th November – 24th December

Join the Christmas elves as they take you on an adventure through the farm. On the way children will be given a ‘Santa passport’ and be invited to take part in activities to get them stamped. At the end of the adventure children can visit Father Christmas and receive a present.

Winchester Science Centre, Winchester - 3rd – 23rd December (various dates)

A fun and different way to see Santa this Christmas. Blast off into space and help save Christmas! This fun and interactive show includes audience participation and footage of Santa (please note there will not be an actual Santa in the Planetarium). Explore the solar system and find out a little about some of our neighbouring worlds while helping Santa ensure Christmas can go ahead as planned.
