With the children now back at school, it’s got us thinking about all that happens in the autumn months. Before you know it, November will be here bringing with it some incredible fireworks displays to light up the Hampshire skies.
From huge displays set to music to traditional village bonfires and family-friendly fireworks, there are plenty of places to celebrate Bonfire Night in Hampshire in 2026.

Best for big oohs and ahhs – The Utilita Bowl Fireworks Party
When: Friday 6 November 2026
One of the biggest fireworks displays in Hampshire, thousands attend this display in the iconic Utilita Bowl. The fireworks are synchronised to a soundtrack and there's a funfair and food beforehand.
This popular Southampton fireworks display usually sells out, so it’s worth booking your tickets early.
Best for families – Portsmouth Fireworks Display
When: Wednesday 4 November 2026
This year’s Portsmouth Fireworks display on Southsea Common celebrates Portsmouth’s 100 years as a city. As well as the funfair and entertainment, it has a welfare tent with a lost-child point, ear defenders and a quieter seating space for anyone feeling overwhelmed.
Best for making a night of it – Mayflower Park, Southampton
When: Saturday 7 November 2026
Make an evening of it at Mayflower Park, with gates opening at 4pm and the event continuing until 10pm.
As well as a large fireworks display over Southampton, expect street food, funfair rides and live DJs, giving you plenty to enjoy before and after the fireworks.
Best for community spirit – Winchester Bonfire and Fireworks
When: Saturday 7 November 2026
There’s a real community feel to Winchester’s annual Bonfire and Fireworks night, which sees thousands of people come together for one of the city’s biggest events of the year. The evening traditionally begins with a torchlit procession through Winchester city centre, before the bonfire is lit and the night culminates in a spectacular fireworks display.
This event is organised by Winchester Round Table on a not-for-profit basis, with proceeds helping to support local organisations and charities. Add live music, performances and plenty of food and drink into the mix and you have a Bonfire Night that really brings the city together.
Best for traditional Bonfire Night atmosphere – Beech Bonfire Night, near Alton
When: Saturday 7 November 2026
For a more traditional Bonfire Night experience, head to the Hampshire village of Beech, near Alton.
Follow the torchlit procession from the village hall to the recreation ground, where the bonfire will be lit before a 15–20-minute fireworks display. With burgers and mulled wine available too, this community event has all the ingredients for a classic November Bonfire Night.
Best for Halloween fans – Funland Hayling Island Fright Nights
When: 24 and 30 October 2026
Not just a fireworks display, these two nights see Hayling Island’s Funland amusement park transform into two spooky occasions. With unlimited wristbands to use on the rides, prizes available for best dressed guests and all this topped off with a fireworks display. Perfect for anyone looking for a fireworks display over the October half term.
Best for double the fireworks – Ringwood Grand Fireworks
When: Sunday 1 November
Not one, but two displays of fireworks feature at this popular display in Ringwood. Held at Carvers Recreation Ground, a low-noise display kicks off around 5.30pm with the main display being held later around 7.30pm. Added to this, expect a children’s fair, food and drink, music and more.
