About
One of the inspiring workshops on offer at MADE Winchester Craft and Design Festival. Your chance to get creative and learn a new skill.
Through the meditative art of darning-loom weaving, you'll rekindle relationships with the garments you already own, creating patches that are miniature works of art.
This hands-on workshop invites you to slow down and honour your clothes with visible, beautiful mending techniques. You'll learn to use a darning loom to weave colourful, textured repairs that tell stories rather than hide them—turning worn spots and tears into badges of love and continued use.
What to bring: A garment ready for mending, and any yarns or threads you'd like to incorporate into your repair.
What you'll take home: Your practice swatch, your mended garment(s), and you can purchase your own darning loom to continue your mending journey.
Limited to 18 participants to ensure personalised attention and support.
*Free with your Winchester Cathedral annual pass, but do require booking. You can purchase your own darning loom to continue your mending journey.
