About
On Sunday 15 December, Mike Rogers, of Sarum Story Club, Southampton Story Club, and Heads and Tales Story Club in Ringwood, and formerly of Wykeham Tales at the Hyde Tavern, will be telling stories for anyone and everyone at Winchester City Museum.
Christmas is a time for magic, a time when light shines doubly bright because of the darkness around it, a time for stories, when people are gathered round the fire which warms them and keeps the shadows at bay. Stories grow out of stories and drag other stories after them, old ones, new ones, from all over the world. What better way to spend a winter's afternoon than simply listening? Especially in a place that is full of stories of the past...
Story sessions will start at 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm - but stories will be told to measure! Simply ask Mike for one as long as you want, or need... and maybe more than one!
Turn up and book a place on the day - please be aware that there are restricted numbers for each storytelling session.
Each storytelling session lasts for approx. 20 minutes This event is Pay What You Decide – there is no obligation for you to pay until after your storytelling session.
Winchester City Museum wants to encourage more people to come and enjoy it's events. Pay What You Decide allows you to choose to pay what you can afford, and what you feel matches what you have experienced. The museum hopes that you will have felt the magic of storytelling at the museum.
The museum is run by a charitable trust, and we hope you feel you can give generously. Suitable for anyone and everyone - all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note: the event takes place in the middle floor gallery and the lift at the museum is currently out of order. They apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
