2024 Stockbridge Contemporary Craft Fair to raise much-needed funds for local playground equipment
This September's popular contemporary craft fair, now in its 25th year, will showcase 20 handpicked artists and artisan craftspeople in the beautiful surroundings of Stockbridge's Grade II listed Town Hall.
This is a unique 'boutique' fair, featuring individual exhibitors showcasing woodturning, hats, lampshades, leatherwork, unique jewellery, fabric sculptures, knitwear, doorstops, handmade clothing, animal art, handmade furniture, glass art, beeswax products, pottery, metalwork and art made from recycled objects.
This year, for the first time, the Fair will hold a charity tombola, supported by every exhibitor donating an item of their work to raise money for new playground equipment in the neighbouring village of Longstock.
The hope is to raise substantial funds towards the purchase and installation of a new slide, zip wire, basket swing and a side surfer (a type of outdoor keep-fit equipment suitable for teenagers to adults) so that the equipment set will cover all age ranges from baby to adult.
So, for a very modest investment of £5 per ticket (or 5 tickets for £20), all visitors will have the chance to win what could be a very valuable prize with fine jewellery, handmade furniture and bespoke clothing amongst the many items on sale.
The organisers of the Fair are hoping to raise awareness of the charitable effort and are extremely grateful for the generosity and support of all exhibitors."
