Theatre-lovers can enjoy an outdoor production of The Three Musketeers at Fort Nelson this summer.

Illyria Theatre will perform the classic story on Friday 4 September on the Parade Ground of the Victorian fort.

The Three Musketeers showcases the tale of D'Artagnan who wants to join the Kings Guard but has to prove himself – this show guarantees a dazzling display of swordplay during the performance.

Tickets for the outdoor shows are on sale now at www.royalarmouries.org costing £19.50 for adults and £10.84 for children, plus booking fees. The show starts at 6pm and theatre-goers will need to bring seating.

Today Fort Nelson is a national museum, housing the country's collection of arms and artillery, run by the Royal Armouries – general admission is free.

Fort Nelson is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am – 5pm during term time and daily in the school holidays.
