About
For couples who want a proper escape to the country, this pretty timber cabin sits in private grounds close to the tiny village of West Wellow, with fields, woods, a stream and sheep grazing just beyond the verandah. Deer and rabbits are regular visitors, along with a throng of woodland birds including kingfishers and, appropriately, herons.
Inside, it's wonderfully uncomplicated, with exposed timber, quirky and colourful artwork and a wood-burning stove to light when the temperature drops. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the ever-changing views, while the open-plan layout brings together a comfy lounge, dining area and kitchen. There's a double bedroom, a bathroom with a full-size bath, and a sofa bed that can accommodate one child if you're bringing a little one along.
Take a seat on the covered verandah with a mug or glass of something and watch the wildlife come and go. There are two mountain bikes to borrow, plus an exercise bike and rowing machine if you think you’ll miss the gym. Headlands Farm is just across the lane with its popular coffee shop, wellness centre and padel courts. And you’ll find groceries, a proper local butcher and fresh fruit and veg in the village.
