Looking for a 2018 challenge or adventure? From watersports to driving experiences, a walking challenge for charity to a 'total wipe out' style run, there are a number of new activities and adventures to discover in Hampshire.

Here is our guide to some of our favourite challenges and adventures taking place in Hampshire during 2018. Choose just one or complete the whole list for the ultimate 2018 challenge.
 

  1. Learn how to master power slides, handbrake turns and J-Turns in the spin and slide exhilarating driving experience at Thruxton Racecourse.  
     
  2. Challenge yourself to all take on the exhilarating rollercoasters at Paulton’s Theme Park Home of Peppa Pig World.
     
  3. Set yourself the ultimate running challenge and take part in the ABP Southampton Marathon on the 22nd of April. Choose from the 10km, half marathon or the full marathon.
     
  4. Don your wetsuits and challenge your friends to a total wipe out style experience on one of the UK's 1st Inflatable Aqua Park at the New Forest Water Park.
     
  5. If walking is more your thing then the South Downs Way which crosses the South Downs National Park is the perfect challenge. Enjoy 100 miles of beautiful countryside stopping off at picturesque towns and villages. Raise money for a charity of your choice as you go.
     
  6. Try something new in 2018, stand up paddle boarding as become one of the UK’s favourite water based activities. Give it ago yourself and test your balancing skill with New Forest Paddle Sport Company
     
  7. Are you a literary fan? Why not follow in the footsteps of one of Hampshire’s literary greats Jane Austen. This 4.5 mile circular walk starts at Jane Austen’s house in Chawton.
     
  8. Go Ape this year and concur an obstacle courses set above the ground; with rope bridges and zip wires, you challenge your climbing, jumping and swinging skills. Go Ape is located at at Moors Valley, Alice Holt Forest and Itchen Valley.
     
  9. Get muddy and wet for charity during 2018 and try your luck on the Rough Runner course. This challenge adventure course will be in Hampshire on the 14th and 15th of April and will feature swinging arms and hanging ladders.
     
  10. Take to new heights in 2018 and abseil 100 metres down the side of the iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower. Enjoy the views over the city of Portsmouth or just get to the bottom as quickly as you can!
