Ready for some chocolate-fuelled fun? To get your Easter off to a cracking start, we’ve rounded up a tasty selection of Easter hunts and trails taking place in Hampshire this spring.

Pack a picnic and follow an Easter trail in one of Hampshire’s beautiful spring gardens or learn about wildlife along the way with an egg-hunt at an animal attraction.

The eggs-tra long Easter weekend takes place from Friday 3 April – Monday 6 April 2026, and with two weeks of Easter school holidays to enjoy, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a spring break in Hampshire.

Hop to it! But remember that many Easter events need booking in advance, so be sure to check with the venue before you visit.

Easter Egg Hunts at the National Trust

21 March – 12 April 2026

Easter trails with the National Trust never dis-egg-point and 2026 promises to be as marvellous as ever.

At The Vyne near Basingstoke, from 21 March to 6 April, pick up an Easter trail map and bunny ears and set off on a hunt for 10 play points spread across the gardens. There’s loads of space to run and let off steam as kids explore the walled garden and the orchard, and race across the lakeside lawn to find fun and active games.

At Mottisfont near Romsey, from 21 March to 12 April, the Topsy-Turvy tea party theme will feature tea time-inspired games like the scone and spoon race, toss the teabag and plate spinning.

And at Hinton Ampner near Alresford, from 21 March to 12 April, bounce around the activity trail and try out the 10 energetic and fun challenges with rabbity versions of classic games, including pin the tail on the bunny and bunny ear hoop-la.

Egg-citing Easter Adventure at Birdworld

28 March – 12 April 2026

Hop to Birdworld this Easter for an egg-citing hunt! Explore the park, discover hidden eggs, and collect letters at each stop to spell a secret word. Solve the puzzle and claim a delicious chocolate treat.

Easter Bunny Train at The Watercress Line

2 – 6 April 2026

Meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy the special Easter trains at The Watercress Line this Easter. Enjoy travelling on the heritage trains with themed sing-along songs and jokes with the Easter Bunny's helpers. Children receive a free activity sheet and a small chocolate egg. There will also be crafts, an Easter egg spotter trail, Easter colouring, and Easter themed selfie spots.

Whitchurch Silk Mill Spring

Family Easter Trail at Whitchurch Silk Mill

31 March and 2 April 2026

Hop down to Whitchurch Silk Mill on 31 March or 2 April and join in the search for Easter-themed checkpoints and activities in the riverside grounds. When the trail is complete, there’s a chocolate treat for each child.

Winchester Bunny Hop Easter Trail

28 March – 12 April 2026

Pick up a free trail sheet from the Visitor Information Centre, The Arc or Winchester City Museum or download online and hop around Winchester this Easter following the annual Bunny Hop Trail. 

Easter-themed words will be hidden in the windows of local businesses to help little bunnies to complete their sheets in return for an Easter treat.

Easter Egg Trail at Highclere Castle

11 April 2026

Get on Down-to(n) Highclere Castle on Saturday 11 April for the annual Easter trail through its impressive gardens and woodland with clues to be collected by children taking part and a chocolate Easter egg reward at the end.

Easter festivities continue throughout the day with a participatory Easter bonnet parade and the chance to meet some of the estate’s farm animals.

Stansted Park

Easter at Stansted Park

5 – 12 April 2026

Visit Stansted Park this Easter holidays and hunt for the Easter eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny. Discover more about the Earls of Bessborough as you search the beautiful State Rooms and extensive Servants Quarters. The Stansted Yew Maze will also be open on Easter Sunday and Monday, weather permitting.

Easter Bunny Trail at West Green House

3 – 6 April 2026

Eggs-plore West Green House over the Easter weekend and follow the Easter Bunny trail through the blossom-filled 10-acre spring garden. Children will receive a traditional Easter treat at the end of their adventure and they will also be able to visit the petting zoo on Easter Saturday and Sunday.

Join us at Mottisfont this Easter for a tea party with a difference ... Compete in the scone and spoon race, test your aim with toss the teabag and try a spot of plate spinning. There's a biscuit rolling station too, and a chance to design your own fun sandwich – slug and cress anyone? Why not join us for giant sandwich jenga and little ones can draw their sandwiches for display in the stableyard. So pop on your bunny ears, grab your activity sheet to guide the way, and follow the trail around Mottisfont's grounds to discover the 10 awesome activity stations. At the finish line, a yummy Easter egg (choose dairy chocolate, or vegan and Free From*) is waiting for you.

Make your way along the trail and find 10 games & activities for the whole family. Each trail is £3.50 which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg. *Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies Easter can be a busy time for us, especially over the Easter weekend. Our peak times are weekends and between 11am and 2pm. If you're looking for a quieter experience, we suggest visiting us outside of these times.

The Vyne is a warm red-bricked Tudor mansion built in the 16th century for Lord Sandys, Henry VIII's Lord Chamberlain, which later passed into the hands of the Chute family, who cared for the house and estate for over 300 years. It was remodelled to its present configuration in the mid-17th century.
