Catergories: Activitiesthings to do

Let your little ones burn off some energy or spend some time playing grown ups at some of Hampshire’s top play cafes.

Dotted around the county, we’ve put together some of our favourite play café pit stops in Hampshire. A great activity for pre-schoolers and ideal for something to do on those rainy days.

Tot City, Andover

Inside one of the play areas at Tot City, Andover

Set in Andover’s Chantry Centre, Tot City offers two floors of role-play fun and toys for pre-schoolers. Children can try their hand at ‘driving’ cars around the mini race circuit, being a hairdresser or at the supermarket.

Snack stations are found on both levels (check opening times first) for light bites as well as teas and coffees for the grown ups.

Arthur’s Play Space, North Baddesley

With both indoor and outdoor space for playing, Arthur’s Play Space is ideal for children aged 0-6.

Test out the various activities including sensory stations and help your little ones develop new skills in a fun and engaging environment.

For the big kids, coffees, teas and hot and cold food are served.

Little Big Village, Fareham

Work in the village or pretend to be a customer; some of the things that children can do at Little Big Village. Whether it’s popping to the hairdresser or vets, there’s plenty of fun to be had for little ones exploring this play café.

Thrive + Wild, Winchester

New on the scene, this child-centred community space offers soft-play sessions and parties for children plus a relaxing café. With an emphasis on SEN provision, Thrive + Wild aims to be a comfortable environment for visitors with neurodivergent children.

Meeple Village, Hythe

This colourful café combines a role play area for children aged 6 months – 6 years, a café and a board game bar.

Added to this, there are fresh crafts every week included in each 90-minute roleplay session.

I Wanna Be Role Play Café, Romsey

I Wanna Be play cafe in Romsey

Just outside Romsey, this play café offers education through play where the grown ups can sit back and relax and watch the little ones engage in fun in a safe environment. There are also regular SEN sessions for children with additional needs.
