Experience the view from Spinnaker Tower – the stunning 170-metre icon of the South Coast and Britain’s best viewing tower. The view decks provide a great introduction to the surrounding area, offering a unique bird’s eye view that makes it a must-do attraction on any visit to Hampshire.
Discover some of the fascinating stories of the people and places that have helped form Portsmouth’s rich history with the Sail of the Solent animated pre-show. Then ascend to the view decks to see where all the action took place and delve into the secrets of this most fascinating sea and landscape, with the interactive i-view interpretation screens. Venture across the amazing glass Sky Walk and watch the boats bobbing about in the waves below your feet. For an additional charge, you can test your head for heights with the virtual reality experience ‘Altitude’ – don a headset and balance your way around the outside of the building for a virtual view of the barhour below.
Then, head up to the Sky Garden, our highest viewing deck - with its open mesh ceiling - to feel the bracing sea breeze.
After all that, relax with coffee, cake and the stunning views at The Clouds cafe, located 105 metres above the harbour. Access to The Clouds café is subject to availability and pre-booking is recommended – choose from the ultimate ‘High’ Tea or Tower and Sparkles packages. Alternatively, head back down to terra firma and tuck into lunch at the Waterfront Café serving hot and cold drinks and meals, using produce from a range of local suppliers.
For an adrenalin rush, you can book an abseil down the side the tower – available April to September.
Spinnaker Tower also hosts a number of great evening events. Enjoy the stunning views by night, with live music and a drink or two, at Sunset Sundays (selected dates during the summer) or City Lights (selected dates during Autumn) – visit the Spinnaker Tower website for dates and to book tickets.
The Tower also makes a stunning venue to hire for private functions and weddings.
