Looking for things to do in Portsmouth this May? Well look no further, as the toughest street food competition in the world is returning to Gunwharf Quays! The southern heat of the 2019 British Street Food Awards will see the region’s best traders fighting it out to win your vote. At stake? A place in the national finals in London and the chance to represent Britain in the European Street Food Awards final in Berlin.
More than a dozen traders, including Flour Power; a Cornish pizza street food business inspired by authentic Italian pizzas, Turo Turo; specialising in Filipino cuisine and Dolly; the world's smallest food truck, a converted Citroen 2Cv serving dishes made from West Country free range eggs. Visitors will be asked to sample dishes from the different traders and vote on their favourite.
Join Gunwharf Quays between Saturday 25th & Monday 27th May, from 11am & 6pm and you'll find fun for all ages, music from Wave 105 plus a fully-stocked bar. Head over to the plaza and be immersed in the very centre of the street food world - for one weekend only! Head down and enjoy all the delicious competition dishes with everything on offer from delicious souvlaki, to tasty asian inspired morsels.
