About
Solent-side Royal Haslar is proud to announce the launch of the new 'Coffee Quarters' café at Royal Haslar, at the Haslar Open Day, taking place on Saturday 21st June.
Haslar Open Day provides a great opportunity to visit and explore the 62-acre site near Alverstoke, on the South Hampshire coast, gain an insider's view into life within the magnificent period buildings and see the exciting changes that are taking place within its stately grounds.
Since the first Halsar Open Day last September there have been a number of exciting developments at the historic Naval site. In addition to the launch of Coffee Quarters, which will be officially opened by Gosport's Mayor, Councillor Kirsten Bradley, BBC One's hit television series Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr has also paid a visit, creating very different show apartments. Viewers of the show may have seen Royal Haslar featured, as eight contestants set about realising their unique visions of a home at Royal Haslar. Visitors to the Open Day will be able to cast a critical eye over the results and find some design inspiration. Among those taking part on the day are Haslar Marina, whose representatives will be on hand to talk about the wide range of activities and facilities available at the Marina. This one-stop shop for boating enthusiasts, water lovers and newbies alike, offers berthing and onsite boat care, training, boat charter and brokerage, and maintenance, as well as access to fantastic benefits across boatfolk's 11 UK-wide marinas. With their unrivalled knowledge of the site's fascinating history as the first naval hospital in the country, members of the Haslar Heritage Group can be found at the pristinely restored St Luke's Church, the Grade II* Listed 1760s Theodore Jacobsen-designed building that stands at the heart of the Royal Haslar community. They will be available to answer questions and queries about the group, their activities and Royal Haslar itself, with Haslar books and merchandise available to buy. Visitors can also ask about becoming a volunteer.
The Memorial Garden will be open, discreetly located in a quiet corner of Royal Haslar, where Veterans' charity Shore Leave Haslar, who tend the garden while providing a safe haven and horticultural therapy to tri-service veterans, are also based and will be open with art and crafts made by volunteers and veterans for sale in support of the charity and offering Tea, coffee and homemade cakes in the garden.
Located in the new communal space at Trinity House Open Day visitors will find Spring Finance to answers queries on part exchange, The Senior Move Partnership to offer advice on the challenges of downsizing and the opportunity to sign up for Royal Haslar Downsizing, events, charity Hub4Stuff, who are located at Haslar and help find new homes for key unwanted furniture items, Serenity Care with details of home help and care services that are available, The Bookshop Lee on Solent offering cards, gifts and details of the Haslar Book Club and Yoga with Caz
