Do you have any items related to the First World War? Would you like to share and preserve these objects and stories for future generations? Bring your diaries, letters, photographs, memoirs, objects or stories about your family's experience in the war to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum to be recorded and added to our freely-available, online archive.
Volunteers will be on hand from 11am to 3pm to welcome you and help record your story and photograph your objects. National Museum of the Royal Navy staff and historians from the CWGC will be on hand to help identify objects and shed light on family stories. The NMRN is also holding an Ask The Archives event, so bring along any questions you have about the Royal Navy as well!
The Submarine Museum is accessible by car and has free parking for visitors.
By train: travel to Portsmouth Harbour station and take the frequent ferry service to Gosport (3mins). Turn left and follow the footpath along the marina and over the bridge; the Submarine Museum is signposted on your left.
The Roadshow is in the Busy Boats Bay building adjacent to the car park at the entrance to the museum.
Entrance to the Lest We Forget Roadshow is free; however, normal entry charges apply for entry to the museum exhibits.
