About
The Orangery is a light-filled, single-storey holiday home for four guests and up to two dogs, set within the historic grounds of Trafalgar Park near the River Avon on the New Forest’s western border. Approached along a private track, it sits in a quiet, gated courtyard behind Trafalgar Cottage, which can be booked together with The Potting Shed and Trafalgar Cottage to host up to 17 guests.
Once part of a grand estate gifted to Lord Nelson’s family after the Battle of Trafalgar, the surrounding grounds bloom with flowers, mature trees and gentle birdsong. A twirly path leads to a mill pond for wild swimming, and the River Avon for fishing and wildlife watching, as well as walks along the enchantingly pretty Avon Valley Path.
Inside, the heart of the home is a bright open-plan living space, where a comfy corner sofa wraps around a log-burning stove. The kitchen and dining area look out to the garden through bi-fold doors, which can be opened wide on summer days. There are two bedrooms (one with an en suite) and a family bathroom to complete the layout.
