You can find this sympathetically converted former lambing barn within the gorgeous walnut orchards of the owner's farm in the tiny hamlet of Hale in the northern, wilder area of the New Forest National Park. Think walks and bike rides from your doorstep, rolling rural views, woodland wildlife, deer and ponies peeping through the trees.
The single-storey, pet-friendly barn sleeps 4 and is a real gem. Make use of the large entrance porch for all your muddy boots and paws before entering the open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge, which has underfloor heating for those chilly out-of-season breaks. French doors lead out to the wrap-around decking, garden and the pretty orchards beyond, while a fire pit (that doubles as a BBQ) is perfect for enjoying those long summer evenings. Both bedrooms are light and airy, with French doors that open onto the decked wrap-around decking.
Hale has its own little shop, and a selection of good eating pubs are nearby. The picturesque town of Fordingbridge is just 6 miles away, and the historic cathedral city of Salisbury is 9 miles north.
